Skyblue Studio is an independent organization dedicated to providing art classes, camps and events in both English and French. Our programs offer children a creative environment to exercise their language skills, and provides non-French speakers with a strong foundational knowledge of the language.
At SkyBlue, we know that an arts education is about more that technical skill: it’s about fostering creativity, confidence, and independance. Our approach balances both guided learning with opportunities for self-discovery and experimentation. We aim to teach our students the fundamentals of art & design, all while encouraging them to develop their own unique artistic voices.

Notre approche combine l'apprentissage guidé avec des opportunités pour la découverte et l'expérimentation. Nous souhaitons enseigner à nos étudiants les principes de base d'art, tout en les encourageant à développer leurs propres voix artistiques uniques.
MEET OUR STAFF
Mirka Loiselle (she/they) is a visual artist and educator who is passionate about creating art for, and with, kids of all ages. They have worked with a number of GTA-based organizations, including VIBE Arts, Art Starts, and ExploreIt!. Mirka took over ownership of SkyBlue at the beginning of 2022, after three years at the studio as an instructor and program coordinator. In addition to her work as an educator, Mirka works as a freelance children’s book illustrator and comic artist.
Frances Loiselle (she/her) is a bilingual actor, artist and childcare worker. Prior to working at SkyBlue, she taught performing arts summer camps at Theatre on the Ridge. She doodles non-stop, and has recently illustrated a series of holiday cards. As an actor, she has appeared in many Theatre for Young Audiences productions, and has worked at Theatre of the Beat, Theatre on the Ridge, and 4th Line Theatre.
Sasha Pinney (she/her) trained at the Art Institute of Boston for three years prior to moving to Toronto to pursue a career in the arts. She is a recent graduate of OCAD University, who specializes in drawing and painting with a minor in criticism and curatorial practice. Sasha is now the owner of Mangled Studios, and works in association with SkyBlue Studio.
